Learn to navigate your way through the rugged terrain of the woodland with a quad bike experience after having learnt how to control your quad bike as you tackle obstacles on the various training circuits. Quad bikes are designed specifically for off-roading so once you have developed the skills necessary to handle the bike on the training course; you can progress onto more challenging terrain to test your newly found biking skills.

Your quad bike experience will start with an important safety talk. This will take you through the dos and don’ts all and provide equipment instruction and a safety briefing. Once the talk is over you will take the quad bike out and spend some time on the learning circuit to familiarise yourself with the quad bike’s controls and its manoeuvring capabilities. When you are confident in your abilities, you can progress onto the more advanced circuits at your chosen location.

Guidelines for participants

The minimum age for this experience varies with location. The child must be at least 12 years old at Rutland, 8 years old at Surrey, 6 years old at Wetherby in South Yorkshire and 12 years old at Flaxby in South Yorkshire.

Please note that the itinerary will vary slightly depending on the quad biking venue chosen.

The maximum weight is 12 stone for this activity.

All children participating must be accompanied by an adult to the venue.

Please note that this experience is not available between October and March at Rutland.

Spectators

Spectators are welcome, but during woodland quad biking, the view will obviously be limited.

Dress code

You are advised to bring comfortable clothing and footwear for potentially muddy conditions, preferably boots if you have them. A change of clothing is very highly recommended for your journey home.

Junior Quad Biking for Two

If you like a challenge, and would relish the opportunity to speed along a quad bike course, this is the activity for you. Quad biking is great fun and once you have had some tuition on the bike you will be ready to take on all terrain.

Once you arrive you will be given a safety briefing which will detail all the do’s and don’ts and you will be provided expert tuition from a professional team member on how to handle the bike. After getting kitted out you will be part of a small group whose instructor will talk you through all the bike controls and allow you to have a practice to get used to the bike before setting off on a circuit or trek. You will quad bike through woods, across fields, up and down hills and over jumps or do laps around specially prepared tracks.

Guidelines for participants

The minimum age to participate is 12 years old. All under 18’s need consent from a a parent or legal guardian.

You should be in good health and agile enough to get onto the quad bike.

Spectators

No general spectator facilities are available becasue the quad biking experience covers a such a large area.

Drive a quad bike around a tough track and learn the techniques to control these great fun machines. Your instructor will place obstacles for you to tackle on the training course, before you will progress to a more challenging circuit where you will be able to put your newly gained handling skills into practice. Depending on the choice of course you will even be able to tackle a woodland environment.

Your quad bike experience will start with a mandatory safety talk. This will take you through the dos and don’ts all and provide equipment instruction and a safety briefing. Once the formalities are over, you will get to spend some time racing around the rugged circuit tracks and, dependent on venue, you could head off for some exhilarating offroad quad biking!

Maximum weight may vary so please check with your chosen location.

Quad Mania For Two

Riding a quad bike is like nothing else. They are a cross between motorcycle and car and have a unique riding style that gives you the thrill of a motorbike with the added stability of having four wheels.

When you and your friend arrive at the quad biking location selected, you will be enrolled onto a full briefing on safety, how to control the vehicle and the techniques required to ride the quad bike. You will be given plenty of time to practice on the bike in less demanding environments to build your confidence and ability before you progress to longer and more varied terrain that will test your skills. You will encounter hill climbs and descents, see-saws and narrow bridges amongst other challenges. For your added safety, a qualified instructor will be present during the ride to support and advise you on how to tackle some of the trickier obstacles should you need help.

The minimum age for quad bike riders is 16 years old and under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult.
The maximum weight quad bike riders is 18 stone.
Please be aware that quad biking is an extreme experience and not suitable for people with back or neck problems or people with general ill health.

Weather guidelines

Poor weather should not affect this activity as it is not weather dependent.

Number of riders

There will be a maximum of six to seven people in a group and a total of 21 people in the session.

You are unable to bring spectators to view this activity.

Dress code

It is essential that you dress for the outdoors with stout boots and a waterproof jacket to protect against the elements. If it is cold, ensure that you bring warm clothing. Protective clothing will be provided, but it is advised that you wear your old clothes as you will likely get muddy over the course of the activity (especially your boots). Also remember to bring a change of clothes for the journey home.
