Half Day Quad Bike Adventure for One

Enjoy a thrilling experience riding a 400cc 4×4 Arctic Cat or Honda Quad bike on a trek across open fields, through woodland and over technical trials sections. The course is several miles long and during the activity you will get to quad bike over various different terrain and obstacles. This experience includes a safety talk prior to the activity and expert tuition on how to ride quad bikes.

Once you arrive on the day you will be given refreshments and the safety briefing will begin detailing all the do’s and don’ts and you will be provided tuition on how to handle the bike. Once the formalities are over you will have the choice of opting for an Arctic Cat or Honda TRX quad bike, and then you will be let loose!

The session will begin over flat terrain on open fields – ideal for you to familiarise yourself with your bike and practice simple manoeuvres. You will then reach the first technical area where you will need to tackle a variety of different slopes and angles. “Active riding” techniques are provided by the experts to help you overcome any obstacles. After this you will ride through a scenic forest route to the next technical area where there are obstacles laid out with various levels of difficulty to overcome. If your instructor is confident in your abilities you will be offered the option to have some free practice time where you can decide which obstacles to negotiate. Finally there is a long ride back to the base to finish your quad biking activity.

Guidelines for participants

The maximum weight is 20 stone for this activity.

The minimum age to participate is 16 years old.

No driving licence is necessary.

Riders should be generally fit and healthy as quad bike riding can be tiring and physically demanding.

This experience is available all year round on a Wednesday or a Saturday and sessions start at either 9.30am or 1.30pm.

Spectators

No general spectator facilities are available becasue the quad biking experience covers a such a large area.

Dress code

You are advised to bring comfortable clothing and footwear for potentially muddy conditions, preferably boots if you have them. A change of clothing is very highly recommended for your journey home.

As soon as you place your order for a Virgin experience day, a gift pack will be sent to you (or the recipient) containing the experience voucher. This is valid for 9 months from the date of purchase and will include a message card, booking instructions and information booklet.

Quad Bike, 4×4 Driving and Apache Rally

This driving experience gives you the chance to drive three exciting off road vehicles – quad bikes, 4 x 4’s and Apache Off Road Racers. You will begin on the quad bikes where you will get the chance to explore over 70 acres of woodland and fields. Your next vehicle will be a 4 x 4 off roader which you can take around a demanding course of slopes and woodland tracks. Finally you will drive an Apache Off Road Racer. These are basically lightweight buggies that contain a 750cc motor cycle engines. Each of these machines has a 6 speed gear box and the power to weight ratio is similar to that of a Ferrari! You will drive these on a grass track with road tyres so you can enjoy maximum slide factor on the grass. There are two seats in the Apache’s so you will have an instructor next to you at all times to ensure that you get the maximum fun from your drive.

When you arrive at the centre you will be given refreshments and will start a safety talk and a demonstration into what the machines can do. You will then begin quad biking, take out a 4 x 4 and finish on an Apache Road Racer. Instructors will be at hand throughout the day to advise where needed.

The minimum age for quad bike riders is 18 years old.
The maximum weight for riders to take part is 20 stone.
Please be aware that quad biking is an extreme experience and not suitable for people with back or neck problems or people with general ill health.

Weather guidelines

This quad biking experience can be affected by very extreme weather conditions. If in doubt, please contact the centre. Contact details will be provided once the booking has been completed. Thus quad Tours is only available from Mid March until the end of October due to adverse weather conditions.

Number of riders

There will be a maximum of four participants in this quad bike experience.

Dress code

It is essential that you dress for the outdoors with stout boots and a waterproof jacket to protect against the elements. If it is cold, ensure that you bring warm clothing. Protective clothing will be provided, but it is advised that you wear your old clothes as you will likely get muddy over the course of the activity (especially your boots). Also remember to bring a change of clothes for the journey home.

How to order

When you buy an experience from Extreme Element you will get a voucher which will be used towards the experience purchased. The voucher itself is called an Ex Pass. This will include: your experience and the voucher code (for redemption purposes). This voucher needs to be redeemed online.
