Quad biking is a fantastic experience that is great fun, easily learnt and quite rightly on everybody’s ‘to-do list’. If you have never quad biked before, don’t worry because you will be given full tuition by a qualified instructor. Once you arrive at your chosen centre, after a thorough safety briefing you’ll get kitted out in protective clothing and be introduced to your quad bike.
To begin with you will be driving on level ground round a marked circuit while you build up your confidence and get a feel for the bike. As you gain experience you’ll be able to shift up a gear and soon you’ll be speeding round the turns. You will then be able to take off on a quad safari for a taste of what quad biking is really about, venturing along woodland tracks, through water and up and down slopes. Remember that instructors will be with you all the way. You will get mud spattered, but thankfully you can hand in your muddy overalls at the end.
The bikes you will be riding are usually Honda 250ESs. These are utility machines with five forward gears and are operated by an electric thumb shift. Or Sportrax 90s – these are smaller, sports-tuned quad bikes.
Guidelines for participants
The minimum age for quad bike riders is 14 years old.
The maximum weight for quad bike riders is 20 stone.
The maximum height is 6′ 8′ and you don’t need to have had any prior experience of riding quad bikes.

Number of riders

Dress code
It is essential that you dress for the outdoors with stout boots and a waterproof jacket to protect against the elements. If it is cold, ensure that you bring warm clothing. Protective clothing will be provided, but it is advised that you wear your old clothes as you will likely get muddy over the course of the activity (especially your boots). Also remember to bring a change of clothes for the journey home.
