quad biking experience from red letter days

Quad biking over rough terrain at up to 50mph is one of the most exhilarating outdoor experiences that money can buy. You’ll bike across open fields, woodlands, water pools and tackle steep slopes. Tuition will be provided if you’re a bit unsure and there will always be at least two qualified instructors with the group at all times for your own safety.

Once you arrive at your chosen quad biking location you will begin with a very thorough safety briefing, then you will be supplied with your protective clothing and have an introduction to the quad bike itself. The bikes are usually Honda 250ESs which are utility machines with five forward gears operated by electric thumb shift. Or Sportrax 90s which are smaller, sports-tuned quads. You won’t be flung in at the deep end (not yet at least) as you will be given initial training on level ground so you can familiarise yourself with the bike, its controls and gain some confidence. Then you will embark on a quad bike trek covering roughly 10 miles and reaching speeds of up to 50 mph!

Guidelines for participants

The minimum age for quad bike riders is 18 years old.
The maximum weight for quad bike riders is 20 stone.
The maximum height is 6′ 8′ and you don’t need to have had any prior experience of riding quad bikes.

Weather guidelines

Poor weather should not affect this activity, however any cancellations due to extreme weather will be for the safety of participants.

Number of riders

There will be a maximum of 8 people taking part in the quad biking experience with at least two qualified instructors in the group at all times.

Spectators

Spectators are very welcome, but as the activity is conducted over open fields and woodand it is unlikely that spectators will get to see much of the action.

Dress code

It is essential that you dress for the outdoors with stout boots and a waterproof jacket to protect against the elements. If it is cold, ensure that you bring warm clothing. Protective clothing will be provided, but it is advised that you wear your old clothes as you will likely get muddy over the course of the activity (especially your boots). Also remember to bring a change of clothes for the journey home.
